Lose Weight with Nintendo Wii

Posted on Mar 9, 2008 04:08:33 PM

Lose weight with your Wii! Maintaining Good Health with Wii. Use a Game console as weightloss technique! The newest product of Nintendo, the Wii, is more than just your ordinary console. In fact, it separates itself from other counterparts, such as Sony’s PS3 and Microsoft’s Xbox 360. First of all, it doesn’t involve any touch pads where you can lay your thumbs on. There’s no need to maneuver any joystick. All you have is a controller, which is very easy to manipulate.

But more than anything, the greatest benefit of the Wii lies on the fact that it can actually develop a person positively, by improving his emotional, physical and emotional aspects.

The Ultimate Difference in Movements
If you have been an active gamer for such a long time, perhaps it has become customary for you to become a couch potato, while majority of the exercise happens in your thumb. This, however, is the total opposite of the Wii. Because the real motion comes from the controller itself, you basically have to perform the movements in order for you to play the game. Even though the game is virtual, the physical efforts you give to every game are definitely real.

That’s why numerous medical researchers and players believe that Wii can help them lose great amount of weight. In the January issue of Mayo Clinic’s Pediatrics, a study states that a child who plays Wii can burn up to three times the calories compared to when he plays the standard hand=held games. This is because instead of sitting down, they are forced to stand up and perform the movements, hence burning more calories. Wii then becomes a perfect partner against obesity in children. What’s more, the game is highly entertaining. Definitely, they wouldn’t desire to put Read the rest of this entry »

Wii the Best Game Console?

Posted on Mar 9, 2008 04:03:17 PM

Ever since the Nintendo Wii video game console was introduced in the global market it has taken the world by storm. In the beginning Microsoft Xbox 360 managed to sell more units than Nintendo Wii in the month of September, Nintendo Wii soon overtook Microsoft to reach the top spot for the number of units sold. Nintendo overtook Microsoft in October when 519,000 units of the game console were sold while Microsoft managed to sell only 366,000 units.

However in terms of revenue Microsoft has overtaken Nintendo Wii. Microsoft earned $354 million in revenue from sales of its video game console while Nintendo managed to earn $246 million for its Wii model and $116 million for its PS3 model. The third major competitor Sony has also done exceptionally well for itself as it launched newer models. On the other hand the Nintendo Wii has done exceptionally well as it faces supply problems from different quarters of the world. Though the company should be proud that demand is more than supply it is trying to close the gap by finding out more ways than one to increase considerable from their current capacity of manufacturing 1.8 million units per month. Wii will Change Gaming Industry

Posted on Mar 9, 2008 03:59:05 PM

Just when everything has looked the same in the gaming world, Nintendo took a riskier path. Nevertheless, all efforts have paid off, and one of its newest technologies, the Nintendo Wii, is getting rave reviews all over the world.

But what is Wii, and how is it different from Xbox, GameCube, and Playstation? How does it exactly work? Learn to trudge upon the world of Wii consoles.

Setting the Difference with Wii’s Interface
It seems like there’s much difference when you talk about consoles of different video games. But Wii is ultimately different. It aims to revolutionize game play, not just to improve what is already available in the market.

Innovation can be one of the better reasons why Nintendo designers have come up with Wii. Gone is the joystick, and all that is left is an ordinary-looking remote control. Yet the ultimate secret of Wii is in the controller itself. For one, gyroscoping has never been this easy. After all, what you can control is the Wii controller itself. It can ultimately perform a series of console functions, such as tilting in different direction, rotation, and even acceleration. All you have to do is to move the controller to any direction that you want it to. What happens therefore is you are increasing preciseness in your movements, and you can definitely complete a game with perfection. Read the rest of this entry »

Wii Are Getting Homebrew!

Posted on Feb 18, 2008 03:46:00 PM

You knew it would happen sooner or later. Every system has a scene dedicated to picking the system apart so it can fit their needs. It didn’t take long for a modchip to come along for the Nintendo Wii, but while that focuses on game backups, this development is going to let you bring more software to your Wii.

By taking advantage of an exploit found within a save file for the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, hackers have been able to run unsigned code on the system. By using your SD card with this save file on it, you too can run homebrewed applications. Unfortunately at this point, all you can run is a Pong demo. But don’t expect to play it yourself, as it’s a self run program that operates at a crawling pace.

This is only the first step forward in this development, but just like any company defending their systems integrity, it should be expected that Nintendo will try and prevent this from happening. With the awful library of shuffleware we’ve had to endure so far, it’s very likely that the content coming out of this homebrew scene will prove to be a thousand times more fun than Ninja Bread Man.

Nintendo WII is Sales Leader

Posted on Jan 28, 2008 03:40:17 PM

Nintendo WII is Sales Leader of its Generation! Hundreds of game consoles released past decades, but only one that offers a completely new and unique interface and handling method. All supersonic techniques are built into the controller only! While other “normal” game consoles have simple straight controllers, with mini joysticks, buttons to press and if you are lucky some vibration effects. The Nintendo WII Controller isn’t like that at all! I presume you know about the Wii and where it is meant to be. On first sight its just a plain old game console like any other, maybe with a smooth touch. The only thing that separates itself from all the rest is its revolutionary controller. Instead of just buttons and joysticks, this controller completely depends on the motion of your hand. The movement made with the controller the same movement makes your character in each game. So for example you can plan tennis and really need to make a swing to handle your gear in the game, very cool! So whatever motion you move your hand in is copied in each RPG, sports, adventure or other kind. All games developed for the Nintendo WII are based on this new motion following concept.

This great new technology offers a totally different view on games and the future of the game console market. Other big players in this market like Sony and Microsoft need to copy this WII idea or develop some completely new and more sophisticated than this cool piece of game playing. But keeping to the subject this new way of gaming playing makes you feel like you are truly in the game and controlling your character for over 100%.

If you are one old school gaming diehard and this motion movement crap is all just to much for you, you are able to transform back into history mode (normal mode) with one single button build into the Nintendo Wii. When the Wii console was introduced to the markets, it soon got declared as the sales leader of it generation by the Financial Times, for the solely the feature of the WII controller.

So pick yourself a WII today and find out how it feels to be able to control virtually anything within the palm of your hand. It’s not me but the Financial Times says so:-)

Wii. Unlike all others!

Posted on Dec 30, 2007 05:53:30 PM

The Nintendo WII is unlike any game console you have ever played before. Unlike your new age “old” ps2 or Xbox, the Wii is a completely one of a kind in game console land. One of the main features is the console’s game controller, which unlike other game consoles, you can control by simply moving your hand. The Nintendo Wii makes all the games extremely realistic, by putting in body motions to control the games, instead of simply pushing buttons.

By using body motions within the controller, the Nintendo Wii makes you feel move interactive and more involved into the game. The controller isn’t the only new cool feature in the WII console. There are also USB add-ons for this console, which enables you to plug in extra hardware like a WII microphone, or WII keyboard more nifty hardware devices. This extra Nintendo hardware is only designed for the Nintendo WII console and therefore will not work on other game consoles.
